Mariam Rahmani is a writer and translator. Currently longlisted for the Center for Fiction Debut Novel Prize, her recent novel Liquid, A Love Story (Algonquin US & Doubleday UK) has been praised in outlets such as The New York Times Book Review, The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, British Vogue, and Foreign Policy, and discussed in interviews with BOMB, Poets & Writers, Image/LA Times, Electric Literature, Lit Hub, and others. Her fiction, essays, and translations have appeared in Granta, Gulf Coast, n+1, New York Magazine, and People. Her first translation was named a Best Book of 2022 by The New Yorker. Liquid was recognized as an Oprah Daily Most Anticipated Book of the Year and a March Book of the Month Club Main Pick. It is currently being translated into Italian, Dutch, and Croatian. Rahmani teaches at Bennington College.
